Official Press Release: UFC Featherweight World Champion, Alexander “the Great” Volkanovski Invests In Australian Sports Nutrition Company in New Ownership Deal

Gold Coast, QLD (July, 20, 2021) — CMBT Nutrition Pty Ltd (“CMBT” or the “Company”) CMBT, a premium combat sports and martial arts focussed nutrition company has today announced that UFC Featherweight World Champion, Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski, and long-time coach, Joe Lopez are now equity owners in the brand.

CMBT Co-Founder, Miles Muecke says that the team are excited and privileged to have Alex and Joe join them as co-owners in the company.

“Their experience in the combat sports industry and Alex’s profile in the global combat sports arena is a welcome addition and will be instrumental to the ongoing growth of the CMBT brand”.

Volkanovski states that he has been involved with the brand since its inception in 2018.

“The products have been key to my performance and recovery,” says Volkanovski. “The brand excites me and I see its potential, so it seemed like a good investment to me”.

Amid planning his business ventures outside of Mixed Martial Arts competition, Alex is gearing up for a fight against Brian Ortega in another World Title defence on UFC 266 on 26 September at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Alexander Volkanovski is a professional mixed martial artist, current signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he is the current UFC Featherweight World Champion and #4 ranked pound for pound best fighter in the world. Born and bred in Shellharbour in New South Wales, Alex went from a semi-professional Rugby League career, playing for the Warilla Gorillas until 2011, when he decided to pursue a career in mixed martial arts. Alex is now set to face Brian Ortega at UFC266 for another world title defence on 26 September, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
