Alexander Volkanovski's protein bar outsold every core protein bar in 7-Eleven's history during its opening week at full price, with three flavours
GOLD COAST, 10 Aug 2026 — The Volk Bar, the protein bar developed by two-time UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski and Australian sports nutrition brand CMBT, has broken 7-Eleven Australia's record for core protein bar sales in its first week on shelf.
The bar launched into 7-Eleven stores nationwide on 1 August 2026 with three flavours — Choc Honeycomb Crunch, Choc Cherry and Choc Mint. It set the new record without any promotional discounting.
The result places a young Australian brand ahead of established protein bar names that have held space in the category for more than a decade.
The Volk Bar delivers 17.5g of protein from an organic pea and whey blend, naturally flavoured and 5.1g of prebiotic fibre. It contains no sugar alcohols, the ingredients most commonly linked to the bloating and digestive discomfort consumers report after eating protein bars and is sweetened with monk fruit. It is Australian made and owned.
Miles Muecke, co-founder of CMBT, said the result came down to authenticity rather than spend.
"We've got a community that actually pays attention, and a co-founder in Alex who helped build the bar rather than just putting his name on it. When both of those things are real, people can tell.
